Open Baskerville: OpenBaskerville 0.1
In the 0.0 series we work on James Puckett’s digitisation of Fry’s Baskerville. This typeface is best suited to display sizes (see http://openbaskerville.lighthouseapp.com/projects/24633/messages/14.... We might make a text version but working towards 0.1 we stick to this model first.
We also setup a GitHub repository and a Bug Tracker at Lighthouse app. We create a project website.
We create a build script so that you can build the font programmaticaly. We also decide on a version number scheme. We make it easy for people to download and try out the font.
We work with the developers of FontForge and RoboFab to make sure the UFO output is similar—until now, we’ve only had FontLab (RoboFab) contributors, but transparently accepting patches from FontForge is a priority.
