Opentype: CFF or Truetype?

I believe they’re quadratic. Having a script to auto create (T/o)TFs would certainly help in creating ‘builds’ that people can use, test, and get excited about. (:

Actually, FontForge turned out to be smart enough to figure everything out for itself. But I believe it’s actually cubic outlines: i.e., for every control point there are two handles.
So it’s a PostScript font. I’ve also managed to compile it with the Adobe Font Development Kit, which is a compiler for OpenType/CFF fonts.
There’s a whole discussion on TrueType vs PostScript, which starts out as a discussion on hinting, on the Open Font Library list:

Erik van B tells me most fonts are initially drawn in PostScript, because drawing is easier with cubic beziers. Then, if it needs to be converted TrueType, some subsequent work is done on the TrueType outlines, because conversion algorithms aren’t perfect.
